The annual Cleanup Day (Cleanup Woodgate Day) was held on Sunday 22 April 2012.

The day started early at 7AM.

Twenty Four (24) volunteers assisted on the day.

A big thankyou to the Woodgate Rural Fire Brigade for assisting; especially the use of the radios.

The Rural Fire used the morning as a training exercise. Each clean up group (2-4 people) were provided with a radio. The radio's were used to call for extra bags, more help, pickups and the like. They were also available in the case of an emergency which luckily was not needed on the day.

The area cleaned up on Sunday was from Walkers Point to Theodolite Creek - quite a distance when your walking.

Along the Burrum River near Walkers Point a number of fishing camps were cleaned up. For any users of these illegal camps, please take your rubbish home next time!.

The morning was capped off with a thank you BBQ held at the 7th Av BBQ. Everyone enjoyed a cold drink, some sausages, bacon and bread.

A thankyou to the Woodgate Community Events for donating some food and drinks and to the Woodgate Club for supplying refreshments. The Woodgate Residents Association also supplied the sausages and the chefs!.

Thankyou volunteers, and we will see you all next year.
