Hi Shedders,
Our barbecue, raffles etc., during "The Arts in Winter" raised us $1040 plus one new member & a stick welder! Well done! A great success & an early end to our food supplies...Your enthusiasm on the day and the teamwork were great. THANK YOU.
Fund raisers must be taken seriously and we have been placed on the roster for "The Big Green Shed Hardware" in Bundaberg for Sausage Sizzle and soft drink sales. We have been allocated two roster dates - Saturday September 14th & Friday December 12th to date. We will do two shifts per day for these - 8 am until noon and noon until 4pm with 4 members per shift. ( More info & requests as we get closer!) Peter De Merlo advised us that we can make $800 to $1600 per day....
On the subject of dates, on July 14th the Maryborough Wood Turners & Wood Craftsman Expo will be held at Maryborough Show grounds. If anybody is interested we can try & arrange a car pool for Maryborough. Let one of the committee know!
GRANTS INFO. We missed out on the Sugarland/Newsmail monthly $1000 for the fifth time in a row. But we will try, try again for it. There is another grant coming up mid July through the RSL so we will do a submission for it.
COUNCIL. Since Wayne Say completed our surveying of the land we have applied for a relaxation of their request for a 10 m setback. Council has now suggested that in view of the location a 1 m set back should be sufficient. As soon as the land is re-surveyed & Council's Planning & Development prepare the submission for DERM we will be able to level the land for building!!!! FINGERS CROSSED!
A site at The Childers' Multi-Cultural Festival costs $165 for a 3 m by 3 m area down a side street & we must have a food venders licence. With so much competition it has been decided not to apply.
ALUMINIUM CANS. We have almost a full bale bag of cans. Thanks to Mick Cross, Ken Rogash, Laurie Mc Donald, and Jose Aronja. Keep them coming guys. The bale bag is at the Blacks behind the boat! It's money for jam!
